Research Interest

The focus of our lab is to understand the role(s) of lysosomal proteases in disease and health. We created a mouse deficient in the lysosomal protease dipeptidyl peptidase I and showed that immune effector cell functions in this mouse are significantly depressed. By applying different experimental models of disease to these mice, we hope to learn more about the mechanisms used by the host defense system to fight infection, inhibit tumor growth and modulate inflammation.
