Primary Academic Title

Associate Professor of Chemistry, Washington University School of Medicine

Research Interest

My research focuses on the development of mechanism-based enzyme inhibitors targeting the substrate binding site of ATP-consuming enzymes, like protein kinases, as new chemotherapeutic antibiotic and anticancer agents. My lab studies the mechanism of action, mechanism of resistance, and formulation of drugs for targeted delivery to optimize the efficacy and clinical potential of new antibiotic and anticancer therapeutics. The inspiration for much of my work comes from medicinal natural products.
