Tell Your Momma

The Importance of Breast Health and Understanding Risk

Dr. Lannis Hall

My name is Dr. Lannis Hall, and I work at the Siteman Cancer Center. I am passionate about educating people in our community with accurate information that they can use to lead healthier, cancer-free lives. This March, I have the privilege of presenting the ‘Go Tell Your Momma’ Breast Health Partnership to the Hazelwood high schools. My goal is to educate young women about breast cancer and provide them with preventative measures they can take to lower their risk of developing it in the future.

During the assembly, I challenged the students to share what they have learned with their families and loved ones. I encourage you to talk to your child about this important topic and discuss the significance of breast health. Your student received a family tree to complete and information on free screenings. Additionally, I would like to invite you to use the ‘Your Disease Risk’ health assessment tool and take the survey below. By doing so, you will be entered for a chance to win a $300 gift card to Footlocker. This is an opportunity for you and your child to enjoy together!

What your student learned

Hazelwood School District and Siteman Cancer Center have partnered to present information on breast health for the Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, and Hazelwood West students. The goal is to educate students on what they can do now for a healthier longer life in the future. The event discussed essential tips on healthy eating habits, ways to prevent breast cancer, and early detection information.
