Research Interest

Normal neuronal precursor cell proliferation, survival and migration in order to identify pathways that are likely to contribute to the genetics of pediatric brain tumors. We described a critical role for the chemokine receptor CSCR4 in normal cerebellar development and malignant brain tumor growth. This requirement creates a unique vulnerability in cancer growth to CXCR4 blockade, and we hope to exploit this in novel treatments for pediatric and adult patients with brain tumors.
