Hospital-to-Hospital Transfer Procedures

Physicians who wish to transfer a patient to the Siteman Cancer Center for hospital care should contact Barnes-Jewish Hospital’s Doctors’ Access Line for assistance. Physician specialists are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to facilitate the transfer process. This includes:

• Quickly connecting referring physicians with a specialist physician on staff at Barnes-Jewish Hospital who can authorize a hospital-to-hospital transfer.

• Assisting with the details of the transfer process.

• Arranging expert, monitored long-distance ground ambulance service in a timely manner, allowing local ambulances to stay in their home communities.
