We’re open and taking appointments

If it’s time for your annual mammogram, or if you’ve missed it, our Washington University breast specialists are here for you – with expanded hours, including Saturdays, and the latest 3D technology.

For your safety and ours, no walk-ins are being accepted, to provide staff extra time to thoroughly clean exam areas and equipment after each appointment. Other safety measures include:

  • A temperature check and screening questions before entry
  • Masks for patients and staff members
  • Physical distancing in waiting areas

The Siteman Cancer Center is committed to early detection of breast cancer through mammography and other screening methods.

Trust starts with a dedicated team of Washington University radiologists affiliated with the internationally recognized Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology.

At Siteman Cancer Center, every mammogram is read by an imaging expert with the skill, knowledge and experience only a national leader can deliver. At Siteman, our radiologists are part of a team of Washington University physicians that includes sub-specialized breast health experts.

We recommend women schedule their annual mammogram starting at age 40. Annual screening at age 40 is also recommended for transgender women (male-to-female), nonbinary, and genderqueer patients who have used gender affirming hormones greater than 5 years, as well as for transgender men (female-to-male), nonbinary, and genderqueer patients whose sex assigned at birth is female who have not had top surgery.

All radiology technologists on staff have advanced certification in breast mammography and have undergone rigorous training in breast anatomy and physiology, positioning and compression, as well as imaging of patients with breast implants.

Their expertise and experience means clear images the first time and every time. At Siteman we provide all digital breast imaging services including:

  • Screening
  • 3D mammography (tomosynthesis)
  • Diagnostic mammograms
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Minimally invasive breast biopsy
