Ricardo D'Oliveira Albanus, PhD

Primary Academic Title

Instructor in Neurology, Department of Neurology, WashU Medicine

Clinical Expertise

Genetics, transcriptomics, cancer imaging, computational tools to study cancer

Research Interest

Dr. Albanus is a computational biologist broadly interested in applying high-throughput molecular profiling tools to understand complex diseases and biological processes, including aging and cancer. He is particularly interested in leveraging naturally occurring risk and resilience within heterogeneous populations - from comparing cognitively healthy centenarians to autosomal-dominant Alzheimer's patients all the way to analyzing treatment-resistant and treatment-responsive cells within a single tumor lesion - to understand the genetic and molecular drivers of these complex processes and discover clinically actionable pathways for a wide range of human diseases.
