Research Interest

Our lab focuses on (1) understanding and predicting how diverse microbiomes respond to chemical and biological perturbations, and (2) harnessing these insights to rationally design therapeutic strategies to curtail antibiotic resistant pathogens and remedy pathological microbiome and host states. Relevant to the Siteman Cancer Center, we are currently exploring novel applications for synthetic bacterial and fungal probiotics to allow for targeted drug delivery and therapeutic immune modulation targeting numerous cancer types.
