Research Interest

Microglia dysfunction is becoming increasingly linked to a variety of neuropathologies including gliomas. Tumor- associated microglia and macrophages contribute to tumor pathogenesis through the secretion of gliomagens and proteases that assist glioma invasion. Our interest lies in understanding the molecular mechanisms by which microglia are re-educated by the tumor microenvironment and how microglia can be manipulated to control tumor growth and development.
