Primary Academic Title

Assistant Professor, Department of Internal medicine, Washington University School of Medicine

Research Interest

The long-term goal of my research is to use single-cell and spatial technologies to understand the gene expression dynamics in tumor and immune cells during cancer initiation, treatment, and disease progression, with a particular focus on prostate and pancreatic cancer and blood cancers including multiple myeloma. Further, our lab is actively sequencing patients affected by various cancer types in underrepresented groups to better characterize the genomic and transcriptional cancer landscape of understudied ethnic groups. In the long run, we hope to both address cancer disparities and strengthen our understandings about the interplay between cancer and pre-cancerous lesions and the tumor microenvironment during disease progression.
