Fisher will lead the fiscal and managerial administration of research facilities, information systems, human resources and day-to-day operations of Siteman. He was selected after a national search.

“Nick brings a wealth of experience and an extensive network of relationships to this role,” said Timothy J. Eberlein, MD, Siteman’s director and the Bixby professor and chair of the Department of Surgery at the School of Medicine. “As a member of Siteman’s senior leadership team, he will be critical to helping us realize our mission of preventing cancer in the community and transforming cancer patient care through scientific discovery.”

Fisher has worked in the School of Medicine’s Division of Oncology and at Siteman Cancer Center since 2003. Since then, he has served in many positions, including director of operations, director of clinical research and manager of oncology clinical research.

“I am extremely honored and humbled by this opportunity,” he said. “Siteman Cancer Center is an exceptional resource in our community. I am thrilled to help lead it and to continue playing a role in reducing the burden of cancer on our region and beyond.”

Fisher earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s degree in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis. He is active in the American Association of Cancer Institutes, where he has served on the steering committee for the Clinical Research Initiative, which examines and shares best practices for the operation of cancer center clinical research facilities.
