Definition of cetuximab

cetuximab (seh-TUK-sih-mab): A drug used alone or with other drugs to treat certain types of head and neck cancer and colorectal cancer. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Cetuximab binds to a protein called EGFR, which is found on some types of cancer cells. This may help keep cancer cells from growing. Cetuximab is a type of monoclonal antibody. Also called Erbitux.
