Definition of low-risk cancer

low-risk cancer (loh-risk KAN-ser): Cancer that tends to grow slowly, usually does not spread to other parts of the body, and may have a good chance of being cured. Knowing whether a cancer is low risk may help plan treatment. Some low-risk cancers may not need treatment right away.
