Tim Schedl, PhD

Primary Academic Title

Professor of Genetics, Washington University School of Medicine

Research Interest

Studies of the control of germ cell development in C. elegans. Specifically, what genes control: 1) germ cell proliferation, 2) entry of germ cells into the meiotic pathway, and 3) progression of germ cells through different stages of meiotic prophase. Mutations in certain genes that control germ cell development result in germline tumors.
