Memorial Regional Health Services, Metro-East Services, Memorial Group, BJC HealthCare and Washington University Physicians in Illinois, Inc. received approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board (IHFSRB) to build Phase II of a medical office building project on the 94-acre campus of Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh.

Phase II includes a three-story 70,650-square-foot medical office building with an estimated cost of $38.3 million. Memorial is working collaboratively with BJC HealthCare and Washington University School of Medicine to develop a Siteman Cancer Center facility in this location that would serve residents of southern and central Illinois. This building also will provide space for physician specialists and services as well as expansion of Memorial Medical Group’s (MMG) primary and specialty care providers.

Siteman, the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center within 275 miles of St. Clair County, is an international leader in cancer treatment, research, prevention, education and community outreach.

“We are very excited about the possibility of bringing Siteman to the Memorial Hospital East campus,” said Mark J. Turner, Memorial Regional Health Services president. “This will provide convenient world-class cancer treatment services to residents throughout our region.”

Phase I of this project, a 70,500-square-foot three-story medical office building, opened in October 2017. This building houses MMG orthopedic, OB/GYN, family medicine, vascular and pulmonary physicians, Lincoln Surgical Associates, Washington University pediatric and OB/GYN specialists, the Harold and Dixie LePere Breast Health Center, physical therapy/rehab services, laboratory draw services and radiology.
