Research Training

The following opportunities are available to trainees from backgrounds underrepresented in cancer research. Visit the NIH website for details on how Populations Underrepresented in the Extramural Scientific Workforce is defined.

• Summer Focus Program – in partnership with the WU Young Scientist Program
• Diversity in Cancer Research – for Washington University undergraduates
• Maximizing Access to Research Careers Undergraduate Student Training in Academic Research – for Washington University undergraduates
• American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant – one slot funded specifically as a diversity supplement
• Clinical Research Coordinator Internship – provides participants with advanced, hands-on experience and training in all aspects of clinical research
• Community Research Fellows Training – for community members who currently work in community health and/or have a desire to reduce health disparities in their area
• Siteman MOLSAMP Collaboration – alliance lead by Harris Stowe State University to increase the number of underrepresented minority students  who complete undergraduate and advanced degrees in STEM fields.
