Apply for SPORE in Pancreatic Cancer Grants

Applications are now being accepted for funding opportunities related to the Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) in Pancreatic Cancer, led by principal investigator David DeNardo, PhD at the School of Medicine.

SPORE programs are key to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Cancer Institute’s effort to promote collaborative, interdisciplinary translational cancer research. The SPORE Career Enhancement Program (CEP) is led by CEP Director Will Gillanders, MD. The SPORE Developmental Research Awards (DRP) is led by DRP Director Ryan Fields, MD.

  • SPORE in Pancreatic Cancer Career Enhancement Program Awards (CEP) focuses on recruiting and supporting new independent investigators in the field of translational pancreatic cancer research. Research initiatives funded by the CEP are expected to have a major translational component, focusing on pancreatic cancer etiology, diagnosis, early detection, treatment, or population science.

  • SPORE in Pancreatic Cancer Developmental Research Program Awards (DRP) focuses on supporting innovative, early-stage research in pancreatic cancer, to develop pilot projects to the point of inclusion as full SPORE projects, to increase the number of investigators committed to endometrial cancer, and to diversify the workforce.
